When will it be declared that school should start on Tuesdays?...
As title says it all, I always wonder why is it Monday that starts the week when most would experience the "Monday blues", feeling reluctant to start the day as they are still indulging in the mood of their lovely weekend bonding with their family and finally being able to take a break from the hectic schedule. Me, also being part of the most.
Adding on, Mondays usually starts off with the mundane Character Development Education, which the class gets into discussions, but that usually turns out to be a classroom for animals and that is not unusual! Some are running rounds and rounds around the classroom like cheetahs; some are sleeping and snoring like pigs; some are hollering at the top of their voice like apes; some acting like a prefect prey that does not retaliates; while some staring into blank spaces like a useless zoo-keeper. It depicts a zoo, isn't it? However, it was exceptional today... We were discussing about resilience and were shown a inspirational yet sad video on youtube, which truly touched my heart and it feel that it ought to be shared with everyone else.
Meet this man Nick Vujicic. He was born in Melborne, Australia and suffered from a rare tetra-amelia disorder that caused him to be limbless but with a small foot with two toes since birth. When he attended school, many of his classmates bullied him, tease him and this made him try to commit suicide as he was overly depressed, and begged God to grow hands and legs to lead a normal life. Despite having a massive disability, he finally was able to overcome the obstacle, stand up strong, accepting the way he is and understands that he needs live his life to the fullest potential. He even attended and graduated from a university, and lives like a normal person doing daily activities. What made me admire him that much is the resilience in him that he did not allow the disability in him affects his life. Imagine yourself in that scenario that you cannot walk or embrace someone for comfort and love. How many of us would be able to accept the fate to carry on living, because I know that I will succumb to despair. This makes me contemplate life from a different perspective that I have no rights to grumble that life is so arduous and give up easily because I know that someone out there is experiencing worse, yet he was able to overcome most of his problems and it motivates me to live my life to the fullest potential. Love life! May god bless him!
